Not all that Glitters

NOT ALL THAT GLITTERS intersects the weathered look of used railway sleepers with crisp geometric forms, and a gentle nod to the Japanese tradition of Kintsugi, which heals broken ceramics utilising liquid gold and celebrates the beauty in flaws.

Designed to be a set of sculptural benches for Shangri-la at Glastonbury festival, the design is inspired by the fields 2023 theme ‘Everything Must Go!’, a socio-political commentary on money & capitalism.

NOT ALL THAT SHIMMERS seeks to remind us that in an age of mass production and quick disposal, learning to accept and celebrate scars and flaws is a powerful lesson in humanity and sustainability.
