Community Collective was commissioned by Longridge Public Art Project. Working with students from Bournville College & Coventry University, over a period of 6 weeks, we developed two art events based on their ideas of Community.  

The Bournville Group designed an activity that had their peers contributing to a series of tasks via WhatsApp, this included contributing favourite song lyrics to create their community’s national anthem and sending in a 2-minute self-portrait to be displayed at the event. The Coventry group explored the idea of utopian and dystopian societies by creating a workshop that allowed participants to contribute towards building a model townscape.

The students contributed to a project blog during the development, attended each others event and engaged in a feedback session as part of a learning exchange.
